  1. This is a nice view... I can imagine walking around there...
I have just called at a local farm to ask for premission to entre his land and take pictures, it was granted if I call on the days when I want to go on the fields and in the woods.
While I was there trees were being felled that had been damaged. He as many trees on his land and says he's lost more this year than at any other time.. this farmer is now in his 70s, and he says these were old trees when he was young.

When I or Peter are out and about is there anything you would like us to keep our eyes open for.... we would be pleased to get pictures for you.

One of the things that got me permission to go on this farmers land was my old land rover.. he still uses a Series 3 1974 SWB.. he had seen me driving about in the blue one. When I told him I had plenty of spares his eye's lit up...

  2. Hello! That sounds brilliant! I do like the unofficial landy lovers club. They were such an amazing vehicle and the pioneering and dominant 4x4 for most of the 4x4's history! And such very good fun to drive and take apart! Ok rant over.

That's very kind of you to look out for some shots. I would love to see any interesting fungus that you find and if you venture into any unmanaged woodland, keep an eye out for any hidden bigger trees. If you see anything really big I would love to see and if you can get the tree species and estimate the diameter of the main stem at about chest height I can age it. Anything over 2m would be worth a look.

Anyway most importantly have a brilliant time!

  4. It was such a lovely day and is a lovely spot to walk just near us although, after I took these we found ourselves with a flat tyre to change on our car but as we said...if you are going to get a flat tyre you could not ask for a more lovely location for it!
